TOP-RANKED GOLDEN KNIGHTS RECORD SEVENTH SHUTOUT

RINDGE, NH–The College of Saint Rose recorded its seventh clean sheet of the season with today's 1-0 triumph at Northeast-10 Conference rival Franklin Pierce. The Golden Knights (7-0-1/3-0-1 NE-10), the top-ranked team in the most recent NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Poll, outshot the Ravens (3-3-1/1-3-1 NE-10) 8-7 and manufactured an 8-1 corner kick advantage.

Freshman forward Morgan Burchhardt provided the difference in the opening 32 seconds of the second stanza when she finished a cross from junior forward Jennifer Busk inside the six-yard box. It marked a league-leading sixth assist of the year for Busk, who has a point in three of the last four games. She also almost found the back of the net herself with 14:07 elapsed when her header rattled off the crossbar.

Between the posts, sophomore keeper Ashley Homer came up with three saves while freshman Casey Cook turned aside two shots for Franklin Pierce.

The Golden Knights are back on the road this Tuesday, September 30, with a 4:00 pm conference match at Pace University in Pleasantville. Meanwhile, the Ravens have a 3:30 pm NE-10 date Wednesday, October 1, at Bentley in Waltham, MA.
