GARDEN CITY, NY–Winning all three of its points by default, The College of Saint Rose tennis team fell at Northeast-10 Conference member Adelphi 6-3 Wednesday afternoon.

Freshman Alanna Bergmann collected two Saint Rose (2-7/1-6 NE-10) points by default at fifth singles and third doubles, combining with junior Maria Malafronte, who picked up the third and final point, also by default, at No. 6 singles.

Juniors Isabela Cubillos and Paige Southwick dropped an 8-2 loss at first doubles, and freshman KeriAnn Mahoney and junior Megan Stacklum were shut out at No. 2, falling 8-0.

Cubillos put up a fight at first singles, but fell 6-1, 6-3. Southwick, Stacklum and Mahoney all suffered 6-0, 6-0 losses at the second, third and fourth slots, respectively.

Cubillos and Southwick will compete in the USTA/ITA East Regionals on Saturday at Queens College. The duo will combine in doubles, and compete in singles as well. As a team, the Golden Knights return to the court on Tuesday in a 3:00 pm Upstate Challenge match at conference foe Le Moyne.
