Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose tennis team fell to
Northeast-10 Conference foe Assumption 9-0 Sunday afternoon at Kelton Courts.
With the loss, the Golden Knights post a 2-6 overall record, 1-5 in the NE-10, and the Greyhounds improve to 3-4, 3-2.
Assumption got off to a quick start in doubles with a pair of 8-0 wins over No. 2 and No. 3 partners junior
Megan Stacklum and freshman
KeriAnn Mahoney, and junior
Maria Malafronte and freshman
Alanna Bergmann, respectively. Juniors
Isabela Cubillos and
Paige Southwick also fell in doubles with an 8-3 score at No. 1.
The Greyhounds kept their quick pace going into singles. Southwick and Stacklum dropped 6-0, 6-0 decisions and second and third, respectively. Mahoney fell 6-2, 6-1 at fourth, and Malafronte registered a 6-2, 6-3 loss at sixth. Cubillos and Bergman fell 6-3, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-0 at first and fifth, as well.
The Golden Knights have a light week ahead with just one match at Adelphi on Wednesday, September 24 at 3:30 pm.
