Isabela Cubillos and
Paige Southwick picked up the lone point for The College of Saint Rose Saturday afternoon as the Golden Knights dropped an 8-1 decision at
Northeast-10 Conference rival Bentley (1-0/1-0 NE-10).
The Golden Knights fall to 1-3 on the season, 0-2 in the NE-10, as the Falcons record a 1-0 record in both categories.
Cubillos and Southwick were victorious at first doubles with an 8-6 win. Senior
Megan Stacklum and freshman
KeriAnn Mahoney combined at second doubles, and freshman
Alanna Bergmann and junior
Maria Malafronte at third, as both duos fell 8-0.
Bergmann battled in singles, posting a 6-4, 2-6, 1-6 mark at No. 5. Stacklum, Mahoney and Malafronte all suffered losses at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 as they all registered scores of 6-0, 6-1.
Southwick also fell in singles, posting 6-0, 6-2 scores at second. Cubillos rounded out play for Saint Rose with a 6-0, 6-3 loss at No. 1.
The Golden Knights (1-3/0-2 NE-10) remain on the road, and head to NE-10 affiliate Stonehill for an 11:00 am meeting on Sunday in North Easton, MA.
