Northeast-10 Conference match against American International today at
Sportime in Schenectady.
Last Meeting (3/29/13): The College of Saint Rose concluded the 2012-13 season on a high note with a 6-3 win at American International, its first victory of the season. The Golden Knights won two of three double matches, followed by four victories during singles action. Keri Robinson teamed with junior
Alyssa Haddad in the second flight doubles to achieve an 8-3 win. Robinson followed in the third singles flight with a 6-3, 6-0 victory. Meanwhile, Sarah Klein and junior
Maggie Moran teamed in the third flight doubles for an 8-0 triumph. Moran also picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win in the fourth flight singles while Klein won 6-0, 6-0 at the sixth flight. Sophomore
Paige Southwick won the fifth singles contest behind a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
Scouting Saint Rose (0-11/0-6 NE-10): The Golden Knights spent a week in Hilton Head, SC at the Spring Tennis Fest playing three matches during the College's "Spring Break". Today marks the first home match of the spring portion of the 2013-14 schedule. During the fall half of the year, Southwick picked up a team-high two victories in the first flight. Haddad and freshman
Gabriella Pizzanelli also have notched singles victories. Saint Rose also owns three doubles victories with Moran being a part in two of them.
Scouting American International (0-1/0-1 NE-10): The Yellow Jackets fell 9-0 in their season-opener at Merrimack yesterday. American International returns two members from last year's squad and welcomes four freshmen. Sophomore Ana Paula Simoes went 6-6 in the second flight during the 2012-13 campaign. She was also part of nine victories with Manon Janin in first flight doubles.
Up Next: The Golden Knights are scheduled to play a 12:00 pm match on Wednesday, March 26 at Adelphi on Long Island. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets welcome Saint Anselm on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 am to Springfield, MA.
