SAINT ROSE PLAYS TO 1-1 DRAW AT STONEHILL

EASTON, MA–The College of Saint Rose got off to a fast start, but host Stonehill scored the equalizer midway through the second half to gain a 1-1 draw with the third-ranked Golden Knights in Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon.

Junior midfielder Jennifer Busk finished off passes from senior forward Carmelina Puopolo and freshman forward Morgan Burchhardt to afford the Golden Knights (13-1-2/9-1-2 NE-10) a 1-0 lead with 6:05 expired.

However, the Skyhawks took advantage of six saves from sophomore keeper Jamie Block to keep the match close. Sophomore midfielder Andrea Mancuso made the effort pay dividends by scoring unassisted with 64:12 gone by to snap Stonehill's nine match losing streak to the Golden Knights that dated back to the 2005 campaign.

Looking ahead, both teams have league road matches set for this Wednesday, October 29. The Golden Knights will travel to New Haven for a 4:00 pm kickoff, while the Skyhawks will head to Manchester, NH for a 7:00 pm meeting at Saint Anselm.
