Scouting Saint Rose (13-5, 5-2): The Golden Knights dropped their first match since September 27 in a 3-2 heartbreaker Wednesday night at NE-10 leader New Haven. Prior to the loss, Saint Rose had tied its six-game, 11-set win streak, and had only allowed two sets to slip away to opponents in the process. Sophomore middle hitter
Maryellen Devic recorded a career-high 53 attacks against the Chargers, and led the attack with 22 kills. The Orchard Park, N.Y., native paces the offense, and sits second in the league, with 3.48 kills per-set, followed by Dube with 2.03. From the middle, Daniels (Tori) and sophomore
Erica Ziskin hold 4.88 and 4.48 assists per-set averages, respectively, and freshman middle hitter
Maddy Halverson puts up 0.80 blocks per-set. Daniels (Katy) registers 5.68 digs per-set to rank 20th in the nation and second in the NE-10. Saint Rose is currently 7-0 on its home floor this season.
Scouting Merrimack (10-4, 4-2): The Warriors will make a stop at league foe Le Moyne Friday night before coming to the Capital District. Merrimackhas won two in row, including a 3-0 blanking of Franklin Pierce on Tuesday, and sits just below Saint Rose in the NE-10 standings. Sheehan leads the Warriors and the league with 4.37 kills per-set. Senior middle blocker Corrine Gosselin ranks second on the team at 2.22, and leads the team with 0.85 blocks per-set. Sophomore setter Tara Stuhr also sits atop the conference with a 10.43 assists per-set mark, and registers second on the team with 22 total blocks. Junior libero Madison Burke posts a 4.65 digs per-set average.
Up Next: Saint Rose hits the road for a pair of NE-10 matches at Saint Anslem and Saint Michael's on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The Golden Knights return home on Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November, 1 for matches against Southern New Hampshire and Franklin Pierce at 7:00 pm and 1:00 pm, respectively.
