#1 SAINT ROSE SUFFERS FIRST LOSS

MANCHESTER, NH-The College of Saint Rose suffered its first loss of the season today with a 2-0 setback at Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Anselm. The Hawks (5-2-3/3-2-3 NE-10) scored twice in the first half and kept the top-ranked Golden Knights (10-1-1/6-1-1 NE-10), who entered the afternoon with the nation's lowest goals-against-average (0.175), at bay throughout the second stanza.

Sophomore keeper Ashley Homer recorded four saves, including a diving stop in the 81st minute that kept Saint Rose within striking distance.

Sophomore midfielder Kendra Bonczar and junior midfielder Callie Millet accounted for the two strikes for the Hawks (5-2-3/3-2-3 NE-10). Bonczar headed home a cross from a corner kick with 18:33 elapsed, while Millet drove a volley off the crossbar that skipped on the back half of the goal line, just beyond Homer's reach.

Up next, Saint Rose is back on the road Wednesday with a key 7:00 pm match at NE-10 rival Assumption in Worcester, MA that will pit the league's top-two teams. Meanwhile, the Hawks have a 3:30 pm home date Wednesday with Franklin Pierce.
