SPRINGFIELD, MA – The College of Saint Rose concluded the 2012-13 season on a high note with its first win of the season at American International, 6-3, earlier this afternoon during
Northeast-10 Conference play.
The Golden Knights (1-11/1-11 NE-10) were driven by winning two of three double matches followed by four victories during singles action. The Yellow Jackets (0-9/0-8 NE-10) were victorious in the first and second flight singles as well as the first flight doubles.
Sophomores
Keri Robinson and
Maggie Moran plus senior
Sarah Klein each helped Saint Rose pick up points in both doubles and singles matches. Robinson teamed with fellow sophomore
Alyssa Marie Haddad in the second flight doubles to achieve an 8-3 win with Robinson following up in the third singles flight behind a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Klein and Moran teamed in the third flight doubles for an 8-0 triumph. Moran picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win in the fourth flight singles while in the sixth flight Klein won 6-0, 6-0. Freshman
Paige Southwick was responsible for the first win of the day. She won the fifth singles contest behind a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
