SAINT ROSE UPENDED BY FRANKLIN PIERCE IN FALL FINALE

Junior Maggie Moran helped Saint Rose earn a point during double's competition in a 6-3 setback to Franklin Pierce today.

ALBANY-Visiting Franklin Pierce managed a 6-3 Northeast-10 Conference victory earlier today against The College of Saint Rose at the Harriett Meyers Middle School.
 
The Golden Knights (0-7/0-5 NE-10) earned one point to start the event with a doubles victory in the third flight. Juniors Maggie Moran and Ashley Cunningham were victorious 8-1 versus the Franklin Pierce (1-6/1-6 NE-10) duo of junior Christina Boulanger and freshman Lyla Austin.
 
In singles competition, sophomore Paige Southwick and junior Alyssa Haddad earned points for Saint Rose. Southwick defeated senior Natasha McCarthy 7-6, 7-5 in the first flight while Haddad won 6-4, 6-1 in the sixth flight against Boulanger.
 
Today marked the conclusion of the fall portion of the 2013-14 schedule for both teams. The Golden Knights begin the spring portion with three road match. The first is set for Saturday, March 15 at Bentley in Waltham, MA. The Ravens have not yet released a spring schedule.
