ALBANY-Visiting Assumption earned an 8-1 victory earlier today against The College of Saint Rose at the Kelton Courts on the campus of the Harriett Meyers Middle School.

The Golden Knights (0-6/0-4 NE-10) earned their lone point on the day during the third doubles flight. Juniors
Ashley Cunningham and
Maggie Moran defeated the Greyhounds (1-4/1-2 NE-10) pair of junior Allison Gorman and freshman Kendra Sloan 8-6.

Gabriella Pizzanelli turned in the best singles performance for Saint Rose, falling 6-2, 6-2 to freshman Kristen Carbone in the second flight. Moran dropped the third flight to senior Paige Gilet 6-0, 6-3.

The Golden Knights will conclude the fall portion of the 2013-14 schedule next Sunday, October 20 with a 2:00 pm home contest versus Franklin Pierce. Meanwhile, today is the final autumn match for the Greyhounds. Assumption is next scheduled to compete Friday, March 28, 2014 at Adelphi.
