WILMINGTON, DE – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team leaves the Wildcat Invitational winning three of four matches in two days after gaining a pair of 3-1 victories earlier today.  The first coming early this morning against West Chester (PA), followed up by the second win of the young season versus University of the Sciences.

Saint Rose (5-2) needed extra points in two of the first three sets against West Chester (4-4) to earn set victories.  However, during the fourth set, the Golden Knights recorded an impressive hitting percentage of .414 to earn the four-set (28-26, 22-25, 26-24, 25-14) win.

Freshman right side hitter Carissa Dube registered a team-high 15 kills behind a .481 hitting percentage.  Junior middle hitter Alex Gagliano continued her strong weekend with a hitting percentage of .524 to help account for 13 kills.  Meanwhile, sophomore setter Ariana Wilson filled the stat sheet for Saint Rose.  During the four sets, Wilson tallied 28 assists, 13 digs, and 8 kills.

The Golden Knights returned later in the afternoon to face University of the Sciences (3-3) for the second time in a week.  Saint Rose rallied off three straight victories during the second, third, and fourth sets after dropping the first set (22-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-18).  In the match, the Golden Knights held a wide margin in the kill column, holding a 59-35 advantage over the Devils.

Freshman outside hitter Kelsey Lace led Saint Rose with 19 kills as Gagliano logged an effective .542 hitting percentage coupled with 13 kills.  Sophomore setter Tori Daniels' 31 assists paced the offense while her sister, sophomore libero Katy Daniels and her 20 digs controlled the back line.  The libero was also named to the All-Tournament team for her play during the weekend.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose has its home-opener on Friday, September 14.  The 2012 home debut pits the Golden Knights against New York Institute of Technology, a non-conference opponent that was a NCAA Tournament team a year ago.
