ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose begin a stretch of three straight home duals with a tough defeat at the hands of Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference play earlier today at the University of Albany.
The Golden Knights (0-3/0-3 NE-10) lone point was credited to senior
Jennifer Crego, who won her number one singles flight. Crego defeated Falcon's (3-0/3-0 NE-10) freshman Ludmila Yamus 6-4, 6-4 after Yamus took the first set 6-4. Crego now improves to 3-0 on the season in her singles matches.
Crego and sophomore
Lauren Romine almost came away with another point for Saint Rose during first flight doubles action. The duo was involved in a competitive 9-7 decision that went the way of Bentley's seniors Rachael Litton and Paulina Sotomayor.
Freshman
Paige Southwick continues to play strong in the early portion of the year, putting up a strong fight against sophomore Melanie Scott. Scott came away with a 8-3 victory for the match and point win.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights are right back on the court tomorrow for a conference match-up against Merrimack. The dual is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm at Kelton Courts. Meanwhile, Bentley will next play on Thursday, October 4. The Falcons welcome conference foe New Haven at 3:30 pm.
