Box Score

COLCHESTER, VT – Involved in a third straight weekend of playing Friday and then Saturday, The College of Saint Rose made it six straight match victories after going 2-0 in all of those weekends after today's 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-14) victory at Saint Michael's to pick a Northeast-10 Conference win.

Junior outside hitter Christina Strezenec and freshman outside hitter Carissa Dube each tied for the match-high of 10 kills.  Strezenec added 11 digs for a “double-double” while Dube went for a .526 hitting percentage on her attacks to help Saint Rose (15-8/8-4 NE-10).  Sophomore setter Ariana Wilson dished out 25 assists to control the offensive flow.  Sophomore libero Katy Daniels came away with 21 digs on the defensive end.  Also on the defensive end, the Golden Knights put down 11 blocks as junior middle hitter Alex Gagliano totaled six and freshman outside hitter Kelsey Lace had five.

Saint Michael's senior outside hitter Katie Walsh tied Strezenec and Dube with 10 kills for the match-high.  Junior setter Jess McLeod was the facilitator of the Purple Knights (10-14/2-11 NE0-10) with a match high 26 assists.

An evenly played match in the beginning of the first set, Saint Rose was able to jump on a 5-0 run to gain an advantage after being tied a 9-9. That small run proved to be substantial enough as the Golden Knight won the set by a five-point margin.  Strezenec finished the game with five kills and seven digs while Wilson dished out 10 assists.

Dube was the vocal point in a closer second set, notching five of her kills in that game.  Similar to the first set, a brief run in the early stages allowed for a slight advantage to last.  Wilson again paced the offense on 10 assists, as the Golden Knights put down 15 kills on a .364 hitting percentage.  Walsh tallied six kills for Saint Michael's in the effort.

A balanced offense gave Saint Rose the control it needed for a dominating final set to take the match going back home.  Strezenec, Lace, and Gagliano all shared the team-high of three kills in the game to go along with Daniel's 10 digs helped create a wide margin.
