Box Score WEST HAVEN, CT – A well-balanced offense that took advantage of some errors allowed the University of New Haven to remain undefeated in the
Northeast-10 Conference with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-16) victory against The College of Saint Rose this evening.

Alex Gagliano put forth team-highs of five kills, four total blocks, and two service aces for the Golden Knights (9-8/2-4 NE-10). Sophomore libero
Katy Daniels also compiled two services aces along with a team-high nine digs. Saint Rose did not help its cause with 25 attacking errors, 11 receiving errors, and five service errors.
Hitting a .282 percentage as a team, the Chargers (16-1/8-0 NE-10) generated 32 kills to help produce the victory. Sophomore middle hitter Kristy Atufunwa had a match-high eight kills while sophomore setter Kaulana Ane dished out 25 assists to go along with six kills and a .857 hitting percentage. New Haven also benefitted from 11 service aces and 11 total team blocks.
The Chargers jumped out to an early 14-6 lead and then closed the opening set with a 7-3 run. Atufunwa and Gagliano each led their teams with four kills each. Ane also passed out 10 assists.
A variety of opportunities then allowed New Haven to manufacture a 9-0 run that yielded a 21-7 lead in the second set. The Golden Knights rallied with four straight points, bux six Chargers blocks and 10 assists from Ane proved to be the difference.
A kill by sophomore middle hitter
Emily Felter gave Saint Rose an early 11-9 lead in the third game. However, the Chargers closed the match on a 16-5 run. Five service aces and eight kills helped fuel New Haven's victory in the set.
Looking ahead, both teams are on the road Friday. The Golden Knights have a 7:30 pm conference date at Bentley in Waltham, MA; while the Chargers have a 7:00 pm non-league meeting at Dowling on Long Island.
