ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose women's tennis team dropped an indoor Northeast-10 Conference match to Adelphi at the University at Albany on Friday as the visiting Panthers did not drop a set throughout the evening.

Saint Rose was unable to tally a victory in the doubles portion of the match as senior Missy Leighton and junior Erin Reeg fell 8-0 to sophomore Maria Toft and senior Alda Ribiero. In the second and third doubles, sophomore Jennifer Crego and senior Kimberly Schacher lost to sophomores Samra Redzematovic and Michelle Gurda, while senior Valeria Bianchi and sophomore Stephanie Wilhelm were downed by junior Carolyn Smith and senior Megan Margino by identical 8-1 scores.

In singles action, the Golden Knights best chance to score a victory came in the second flight where Leighton fell to Ribiero 6-3, 6-0. Reeg also put up a strong fight for Saint Rose in the third pairing, before dropping a 6-1, 6-2 final to Smith.

Saint Rose wastes no time getting back out on the court as the Golden Knights will host NE-10 rival Southern New Hampshire on Saturday at the University at Albany Bubble at 10:00 am. Adelphi is also in action tomorrow. The Panthers will host league foe Saint Anselm at 2:30 pm on Long Island.
