EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team went 1-1 in day-two action at the East Stroudsburg University Fall Fest this afternoon. The Golden Knights handed Shepherd University a 3-1 (25-17, 25-23, 22-25, 25-20) setback in their first match of the day, but suffered a 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 15-25, 9-25) loss to the host Warriors in their final contest.
Saint Rose (3-2) junior right side hitter
Jaclyn Griffin helped the Golden Knights defeat the Rams (2-7) by hitting .565 with 13 kills and five blocks. Freshman outside hitter
Marilyn Glamack contributed 10 kills and 11 digs, while sophomore middle hitter
Kelly Ryan finished with eight kills and four blocks.
Junior libero
Mary German continued to be solid in the back after coming up with 26 digs and freshman setter
Theresa Staulo ran the offense to the tune of 37 assists and a pair of aces.
The Golden Knights were not able to fire at the same clip in the tournaments final match against East Stroudsburg (6-3) after committing 21 attack errors and seven service errors.
Sophomore
Rachel Baxter paced Saint Rose offensively with 10 kills to go with four digs. Meanwhile, Griffin added eight kills and German picked up 19 digs.
The Golden Knights return to action at 7:00 pm Tuesday when they host Dominican College in their 2008 home opener at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
