EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team split a pair of matches at the East Stroudsburg University Fall Fest Tournament this evening. The Golden Knights (2-1) began the night with a 3-1 (27-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-18) victory over Philadelphia University, but fell 3-0 (20-25, 16-25, 15-25) to Clarion University in the day's final match.
Against the Rams (1-2), junior right side hitter
Jaclyn Griffin led a balanced offensive attack with 12 kills and four blocks. Sophomore outside hitter
Rachel Baxter and sophomore middle hitter
Kelly Ryan had nine kills apiece. The duo also combined for 12 blocks in the match, nine of which Ryan accounted for.
Additionally, freshman setter
Theresa Staulo handed out 40 assists and junior libero
Mary German picked up 21 digs.
In the nightcap, freshman outside hitter
Marilyn Glamack had a solid all-around performance with 12 digs, 10 kills and a pair of aces. German paced the defensive unit with 25 digs, while Griffin and freshman middle hitter
Chelsea Tyler registered seven and five kills respectively.
The Golden Knights will wrap up tournament play tomorrow when they meet Shepherd University at 1:00 pm before taking on the host Warriors at 3:00 pm.
