Yafayev recorded four top-five performances to lead Saint Rose, which finished tied for sixth at the Metropolitan Conference Championships over the weekend. Yafayev registered the lone individual victory for the Golden Knights behind a school record and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:53.65 in the 200-yard backstroke. He was also fourth in the 100 butterfly in 51.96. Yafayev was furthermore part of the school record setting 200 medley relay squad that placed third in 1:36.67. He also anchored the 400 free relay team that hit the wall fifth in 3:11.65.
