Lisa Geiger was named Assistant A.D. for Sports Medicine in July of 2013, after serving as an assistant athletic trainer since August of 2010. Her oversight includes the management, treatment and prevention of injuries for the College's 330 student-athletes and 19 intercollegiate programs. In June 2017, Geiger, who serves on numerous department and campus-wide committees, including the JED committee, was named the Athletics Health Care Administrator. Geiger was integral to Saint Rose athletics returning to full activity during the COVID-19 and helped the Golden Knights sports medicine staff earn the Team Recognition Award in 2021.
 
Geiger brought 15 years of collegiate experience, 13 at the NCAA Division 1 level, to Saint Rose. She is a certified Athletic Trainer by both the NATABOC and New York State, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, is certified in CPR/First Aid/AED by the American Red Cross and was an Approved Clinical Instructor and adjunct instructor at Stony Brook University.
 
Geiger spent 12 years at Stony Brook University on Long Island where she initially began as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, before being promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer and subsequently to the head position. More recently, she worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Siena College, and was a contracted staff member at Thomas Nicolla Consulting Services in Latham, N.Y. In her latter role, she provided athletic training services to the athletic programs at Hudson Valley Community College and South Colonie High School.
 
Geiger furthermore traveled to Europe during the summers of 2004, 2005 and 2007 while serving as the head athletic trainer with a New Jersey based Select U-17 girls’ soccer team. She has also worked at the draft camps for both the Women’s National Basketball Association and Major League Lacrosse. She is an active member of the New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association and was a reviewer for an Emergency Trauma Management textbook designed for athletic training majors. The book was published in October of 2011.  Geiger has completed both a half Ironman and a marathon.
 
Geiger earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education/athletic training from Central Connecticut State University ('95) and completed her master’s in health care administration at the University of New Haven ('97).
 
Geiger currently resides in Latham, N.Y., with her husband, Jay and their daughter Averi.
