Mills’ primary responsibilities include scheduling the College’s facilities for intercollegiate practices and home contests, and internal group usage and external rentals. Additionally, she serves as the game-day manager for all intercollegiate home competitions, including coordinating event staff and the game-day environment, as well as supervising the day-to-day operations of the Events and Athletics Center and the Plumeri Sports Complex.

Mills monitors program budgets and focuses on fundraising initiatives, including the athletic department’s annual golf tournament, the Golden Knights Golf Classic.

“We are elated to have Tamara on our Golden Knights team. Having experience as both a college head coach and administrator will be a tremendous asset for our coaches, student-athletes, and fellow administrators as we continue to elevate Saint Rose Athletics. Tamara has a very bright future in college athletics and I’m thrilled she has chosen Saint Rose to be part of her journey,” said Lori Anctil, Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics, at the time of her appointment.

Mills spent the past three years as the Head Field Hockey Coach and Assistant Director of Recreation and Fitness at nearby Russell Sage College. Outside of her coaching responsibilities, Mills helped manage intramural leagues, monitored the campus’ two fitness centers, and aided in the design of the varsity weight room for the Gator athletic programs.

A 2016 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., Mills arrived at Russell Sage after spending one year as the Assistant Field Hockey and Assistant Women’s Lacrosse coach at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.

During her time at DePauw, she worked closely with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and also developed and oversaw the strength and conditioning programs for the Tiger varsity teams. Prior to DePauw, Mills served as a Graduate Assistant Field Hockey Coach for two seasons at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.

While at McDaniel, Mills earned a Masters in Kinesiology. She holds a Level 1 accreditation from the United States Field Hockey Association and is also in the process of earning her certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
