Herwig enters her second season as an assistant coach for the women’s volleyball team at The College of Saint Rose. Herwig arrives in Albany after serving as an assistant coach at Northeast-10 Conference foe Saint Michael’s College for two seasons.
Herwig was a four-year member of the volleyball team at Saint Michael’s and was twice named team captain. She appeared in every match during her senior year in 2008 when she finished fifth on the squad with 158 digs and 111 kills. As a junior, Herwig led the team with 2.44 kills per-game, was second behind 2.35 digs per-game and helped guide the Purple Knights to an 11-win season, the second-most victories for the program since 1995.
A native of Kingston, NY, Herwig received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Saint Michael’s in 2008. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in school psychology at Saint Rose.
