Jason Wood returns to The College of Saint Rose as an assistant coach after serving in the same capacity from 2003-06. Wood, a Bangor, Maine native, comes back to the Golden Knights program after a pair of head men’s volleyball coaching positions with Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar and the Sage Colleges of Albany.

While at Bethlehem, Wood was responsible for all aspects of the junior and varsity programs in regards to scheduling, practices and game duties. His duties at Sage were similar as he oversaw recruiting, practices, game preparation and coordination of travel, as well as meals and the team budget. Wood served as an assistant for two seasons with the women’s volleyball program at Sage before taking over as head coach for the 2012 season.

Between 1993 and 2003, Wood held a number of coaching positions in track and field, gymnastics, ice hockey, girls volleyball and girls soccer, bringing a large amount of knowledge and experience with him along the way. 

Wood is a 1995 graduate of the University of Maine where he was a four-year letter winner in Track and Field and participated on the club volleyball team.  He earned his master’s degree in teacher education in August of 2003 from The College of Saint Rose.

Wood is a Physical Education instructor for Bethlehem Central School District and currently resides in Scotia, N.Y. with his wife and daughter.Â
