Lauren Steinberg enters her fifth season as an assistant coach for Laurie Darling Gutheil. Lauren wrapped up her storied career for Saint Rose in 2007, but not before putting together an outstanding scholar-athlete resume.
Steinberg’s numerous accomplishments were highlighted by her being named one of only 58 NCAA student-athletes to be awarded an educational grant through the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Program. She has since begun work towards her MBA at Saint Rose after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science.
Steinberg helped lead the Golden Knights to a then school record 19 wins and to their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance within a six-season span as a senior. A Daktronics third-team All-American keeper and an NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-American, Steinberg finished eighth in the country (NCAA II) with a 0.508 goals-against-average and was 15th behind a .859 save percentage. She wound up her career as the College’s all-time leader with a 0.62 GAA, 45 wins and 26 shutouts.
The MVP of the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, Steinberg was also a three-time All-Conference pick and was an NSCAA scholar All-American as a senior.
