Jim Lennox is in his sixth year as an assistant coach at The College of Saint Rose. Lennox’s soccer career started at Mitchell College in New London, CT., in 1969. While there, he was named National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Junior College Coach of the Year in 1975. He moved on to Hartwick College in 1976.
At Hartwick, he produced a perennial powerhouse team that made 13 NCAA Tournament appearances, five visits to the Final Four Championship Tournament, and won the national championship title in 1977. He was also twice named NSCAA National Coach of the Year in NCAA Division I; the first time in 1977 and the second time in 1984.
Lennox’s overall record at Hartwick was 318-163-43 (.648) during his 25-year tenure from 1977-2002. After his tenure with the Hawks, he served as Director of Coaching for the Connecticut Youth Soccer Association (2003-06), before arriving at Saint Rose.
He was inducted into the NSCAA Hall of Fame last January. Lennox has also been elected to the Hartwick College, Mitchell College and East Stroudsburg University Halls of Fame.
