Carmelina Puopolo is in her first season as an assistant on head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil’s staff. She is currently a graduate student in the College’s School of Education after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Special Education:Childhood Education.
Puopolo is among the most decorated players to ever put on a Golden Knights uniform. She was a three-time NSCAA and Daktronics first-team All-American, was twice honored with the prestigious Northeast-10 Conference Sports Excellence Award, was named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team as a senior in 2014, and was tabbed the Daktronics Ron Lenz National Player of the Year as a junior in 2012. A year earlier, she was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the NCAA Championship Tournament after she led Saint Rose to the national title.
Puopolo wound up her career as the College’s all-time leader in points (199), goals (73) and assists (53).
