Justin Metzger is in his second year as an assistant coach at The College of Saint Rose. Metzger serves as the team’s pole vault coach.
Metzger was a standout member of the indoor and outdoor track & field squads at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. An All-League recipient on numerous occasions, Metzger won six Liberty League titles (three indoors, three outdoors) in the pole vault throughout his career. He owns the school indoor record (4.93-meters) in addition to the outdoor school mark (4.86-meters). Metzger furthermore earned All-American status on two occasions.
Metzger, who graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, currently works at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at the University at Albany. He has also been an assistant coach with ‘Raise the Bar’ pole vault club since 2005.
