Pat Blum enters his second season as assistant coach of the Golden Knights, in addition to his responsibilities working with the Golden Knights outfielders, Blum also serves as the Saint Rose hitting coach.
Blum, along with his family, have deep ties to the game of softball and he began coaching the game in 1990. In 2007, Blum started the New York Rockers tournament team, which he coached for 10 years. Blum also coached high school softball for five years, as well as women’s basketball for a season at Bryant & Stratton College of Albany. He has also worked with the Professional Fastpitch Xtreme Tour.
Blum graduated with two degrees from SUNY Delhi in Turfgrass Management and Landscape Design. Besides coaching softball, he is the golf course superintendent at Whispering Pines Golf Course. He has a son, Zach, and a daughter, Samantha.
