ABOUT HONG: Was “red-shirted” four years ago and thus still has a year of eligibility remaining…Athletic big man who should again help out in the frontcourt…Can also step away from the hoop and knock down the mid-range jumper.

AS A JUNIOR (2012-13): Jumped off the bench to appear in 28 of the squad’s 29 games …Averaged 1.9 points…Scored a career-high seven points in a 71-61 victory at Pace (2/16/13)…Finished with five points during an 84-68 victory at Adelphi (11/28/12)…Selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for both the fall and spring semesters in recognition of academic excellence.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2011-12): Appeared in 19 games…Recorded career-highs of 16 points and five rebounds during a 60-56 setback at Adelphi (11/30/11)…Finished 6-for-8 from the floor and 4-for-6 from the foul line that game…Also had eight points behind 4-for-6 shooting in a 63-60 loss to Le Moyne (11/22/11)…Was named to the NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for both the fall and spring semesters .

AS A FRESHMAN (2010-11): Appeared in seven games…Scored all six of his points in a 96-69 victory versus Holy Family (11/14/10).

AS A FRESHMAN (2009-10): Appeared in five contests and scored two points on the year…His final appearance of the season came versus Concordia (12/18/09).

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Jack Curran at Archbishop Molloy.

GENERAL: Comes out of New Heights AAU Club…Said his parents are the people who have had the greatest influence on him…Mentioned that LeBron James is the athlete he most admires…Enjoys listening to music, reading magazines and watching movies…Added that Drake is his favorite musical artist…His father played professional volleyball in Korea…Said that going to the NCAA Tournament in 2010-11 has been his best sports moment to date.
