Student-Athlete Wellness: The College of Saint Rose applies a detailed and systematic approach for the holistic wellness of our Student-Athletes.
We define Student-Athlete Wellness to include instruction on psychological health and resilience as core tenets for physical development. Our focus is a long-term vision for the student-athlete through education on self-care through proper sleep, nutrition, physical conditioning, and emotional integrity for life-long health. The Student-Athlete Wellness Program will hold student-athletes accountable for the personal development and application of these key components.
Philosophy: The College of Saint Rose Student-Athlete Wellness Program is committed to providing stronger and better conditioned athletes, both mentally and physically. Our goals are sports-specific results, conjoined with psychological performance through the application of critical information. This program encourages, provides feedback, and promotes a healthy lifestyle through the awareness that our in-depth instruction affords.
Higher education must facilitate a culture that educates the entire person. As knowledge applies itself in practice, only then will it manifest in the discipline of wisdom.
Mandate: At the inception of their collegiate athletic career, all freshmen and transfer student-athletes will be completing the following workshops.
