ABOUT HUGHES: Local product that could figure into the rotation…Can handle the ball and also play the “two”…Tireless worker and defender…Has the ability to step out and shoot the “three”…Transferred from nearby Hudson Valley Community College prior to her sophomore season.

AS A JUNIOR: Saw 5.4 minutes of action in 18 games…Shot 55.6 percent (5-for-9) from beyond the arc…Finished 1-for-2 from deep in a 79-48 win versus University of the Sciences (11/15/08)…Came off the bench to score five points in nine minutes to help Saint Rose upend Stonehill 70-68 (1/17/09)…Tied her career-high with six points via a pair of 3-pointers in a 63-57 overtime win at Southern Connecticut State (1/24/09)…Closed out the regular season with three points in a 75-61 triumph at Saint Anselm (2/24/09)…Named to the NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in honor of academic excellence.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Made 27 appearances, including two starts…Scored her first points in a Saint Rose uniform during a season-opening 75-65 victory at LIU-C.W. Post (11/17/07)…Had a season-high six points at Franklin Pierce (12/8/07)…Finished with five points, three boards and one assist on two occasions, including a 59-56 victory versus Southern New Hampshire (2/5/08)…Dished out a season-high three assists versus American International (2/16/08).

AT HVCC: Led the Vikings to their first NJCAA Region III Division III Tournament in two years behind a 14-17 overall record and a 13-13 mark in Region III play…Earned a spot on the 2006-07 All-Region III squad as a second-team selection…Finished the season as the squad’s second leading scorer with 15.4 points having played in all 31 games…Was the team’s deadliest threat from beyond the arc after shooting .348 (54-for-155) percent…Also led the club with a .766 (121-of-158) free throw percentage…Recorded a “triple-double” in a 95-67 win at Adirondack Community College with 39 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals…It marked the second highest point total in program history as well.

HIGH SCHOOL: Led the Warriors to a section II class “A” championship as a senior in 2006…Was a Channel 13 All-Star…Garnered first-team All-Suburban Council honors and was a first-team pick by the Times Union and the Troy Record…Also played soccer.

GENERAL: Played alongside Meg O’Shea, who is a member of the women’s basketball team at NE-10 foe Saint Michael’s…Said her best sports moment was winning the section II championship and playing in Greece last summer…Said her parents have influenced her the most throughout her lifetime…Would like to become a basketball coach in the future…Listed Michael Jordan as the athlete she admires most...Favorite food is steak.
