HIGH SCHOOL: Won three state championships with Malcolm X Shabazz…Named Defensive Player of the Year…Was inducted into the Malcolm X Shabazz Athletics Hall of Fame…Also played tennis…Honor Roll student.

COACH HAAG ON SIMMONS: “Desiree came on strong towards the end of last season by working her way into the rotation after regaining her strength from a previous injury. She has a great work ethic on the defensive end and has the ability to lock down her assignment. Offensively, she gets to the rim with speed and aggressiveness and has improved her shooting to add another dimension.”
