MANCHESTER, NH- The College of Saint Rose finished off the 2023-24 regular season with a 46-43 overtime victory tonight at Southern New Hampshire.
With a 17-5 record in the Northeast-10 Conference, the Golden Knights have earned a first-round bye in the league's postseason tournament as the three seed. Following its bye, Saint Rose will play at home on Sunday afternoon against the winner of a Friday matchup between New Haven and Southern Connecticut State.
Sophomore guard
Payton Graber logged a 15-point, 11-rebound effort in the win, with her double-double performance including five points in the final 15 seconds of the fourth quarter to force an overtime session.
Trailing by four, Graber netted a layup with 14.2 remaining, but on the ensuing in-bounds, the Penmen would run precious time off the clock before Saint Rose was able to foul with 1.9 seconds left.
After Southern New Hampshire converted one of two from the line to move ahead by three, Graber swished a half-court heave before the clock expired to tie the action at 39-39.
Saint Rose would go on to outscore SNHU 6-3 in the extra period, with sophomore guard
Kaelah Carter providing four of the Golden Knights' six points in the five-minute overtime. Carter finished with 12 points.
Sophomore forward
Aniya McDonald-Perry grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds to help Saint Rose tally a 52-35 advantage on the glass. McDonald-Perry registered six steals, which is also the most she has tallied in a Golden Knights uniform.
The Golden Knights will tip off the postseason on Sunday at 4:00 pm in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
