GOLDEN KNIGHTS MATCH PROGRAM'S SINGLE-GAME RECORD OF SEVEN GOALS IN BIG WIN AT DOMINICAN

ORANGEBURG, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team saw its offense erupt this afternoon in its 7-2 victory at Dominican. For the Golden Knights, the seven-goal scoring output matched a program record for most goals in a single game.

There were thirty minutes of scoreless play to start off the action in Orangeburg, but Saint Rose took advantage of a Charger turnover in the 31st minute. Graduate forward Hilmar Halldorsson sent a ball through the box and found graduate midfielder Lennart Greifenberg who would make the extra touch to graduate midfielder Joao Amaral to open up the scoring.

The Golden Knights would add another goal late in the first half on a beautifully placed finish from Halldorsson, using the outside of his right foot, for his second goal of the season. Saint Rose would take a 2-0 lead into the break.

Sophomore forward Isac Williamson opened the second half scoring just three minutes into the second frame with an unassisted goal to extend the Saint Rose lead to 3-0.

Dominican would end the Saint Rose shutout in the 51st minute however the Golden Knights would waste no time answering. Less than two minutes after the Charger score, junior forward Alessandro Cerbara would net the fourth Saint Rose goal courtesy of the second assist of the afternoon for Greifenberg.

A mere 35 seconds after scoring his goal, Cerbara would find Halldorsson for his second goal of the game and extend the Golden Knights lead to 5-1.

Williamson would net another unassisted goal in the 69th minute to make it two Golden Knights with braces in the match.

Saint Rose sophomore forward Saevar Jonsson would tally a final Golden Knights score in the 80th minute to make it a 7-2 final.

Freshman goalie Leopold Dufaut made 7 saves on the day for Saint Rose.

The Golden Knights are back in action on Saturday at 4:30 pm as the team is set to travel to Rockville Center, N.Y. to take on the Molloy.
