BASEBALL FINISHES SPRING ON HIGH NOTE AGAINST NEW HAVEN

ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose put on a show offensively in today's 16-5 season-ending victory over visiting New Haven today at Bellizzi Field. The Golden Knights saw four players score multiple runs on the day, in addition to six players in the lineup driving in more than one RBI.

Sophomore James Ward led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a walk. Ward came around to score each time he reached base, as he tallied four runs in the big win.

Senior first basemen Jack McDonald, senior designate hitter Louis Gendron, and sophomore center fielder Vince Venditti each scored two runs, while McDonald also joined senior Steve Sanders and the freshman trio of Jack Griffin, Liam Blesi, and Colin Casey with multi-RBI efforts.

Venditti, Blesi, and Griffin drove in first-inning runs to provide the Golden Knights an early 3-1 advantage. After a sacrifice fly from Ward in the second, Saint Rose plated five runs in a fourth inning that featured run-scoring hits from Griffin and Casey.

Blesi provided a sacrifice fly as well in bottom of the sixth, which was followed a pair of two-run home runs by McDonald and Sanders in the seventh to blow it open.

Senior Noah Rubino earned the win on the mound for Saint Rose after allowing only three baserunners in 5.0 innings.
