NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The College of Saint Rose men's basketball team fell to the Southern Connecticut State in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament tonight, with the fifth-seeded Owls defeating the 12 seed Golden Knights 85-71.

Josh McGettigan was the games leading scorer with 20 points. McGettigan's 20 point effort would give him his 11th straight games finishing double digits to end the season.Â
The Owls were red hot from deep in the first half, going 9-for-13 (69.2 percent) from three to help the hosts pull out to a 49-33 lead after 20 minutes.Â
Southern Connecticut State would see five players reach double figures, led by 18 points from guard Logan Bagshaw. Forward Zack Penn would contribute a double-double of 12 points and 12 reboundsÂ

Latiek Briscoe scored 17 points on the night, while sophomore guard
Keegan Zoller chipped in 11.Â
SCSU will move on to the quarterfinals of the conference tournament to play New Haven on Sunday.
