#1 SAINT ROSE FINISHES UNBEATEN REGULAR SEASON WITH 3-1 VICTORY OVER #15 ADELPHI

ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose women's soccer team closed out the 2023 regular season with a 3-1 triumph over #15 Adelphi tonight at Sullivan Field.

The Golden Knights, who are currently ranked #1 in the United Soccer Coaches Association national poll, received two goals and an assist from graduate midfielder Elina Seppala in the victory.

Seppala put the Golden Knights on the board early when she tucked home a pass from senior midfielder Lauren Amerena with 5:40 gone in the first half.

After Adelphi found an equalizer to bring the action to 1-1 with 13 minutes to go in the half, Saint Rose would pull ahead once again on a strike from freshman midfielder Brielle Zink in the second minute of the second frame.

Seppala capped the scoring with five minutes remaining, as she deposited an assist from junior midfielder Mia Klammer from short range.

With tonight's win, the Golden Knights extend their streak to 35 consecutive regular season contests without a defeat.

Saint Rose will look ahead to the Northeast-10 Conference postseason tournament, where the top-seeded Golden Knights will host Southern Connecticut State, the eight seed, on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
