ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team overcame a two-goal deficit to earn a point against Assumption today at Sullivan Field.
They visiting Greyhounds had netted three straight unanswered goals and lead 3-1 before the Golden Knights roared back with a pair of scores in the final 21 minutes, including the match-tying penalty kick by senior forward
Hilmar Halldorsson with 27 seconds remaining in regulation.
Junior forward
Lucas Malmquist had gotten Saint Rose back to within one when he buried a right-footed courtesy of a nice feed up the wing by sophomore forward
Saevar Jonsson.
Graduate forward
Jose Clemente netted the opening goal of the day for the Golden Knights, which came off an in-direct free kick within the Greyhounds' six-yard box. Halldorsson provided the assist on the first goal, as he touched the ball prior to the Clemente opportunity.
Halldorsson has now registered two or more points in five consecutive matches, while Clemente's streak of multi-point efforts was extended to three straight contests.
Both squads will be back in action at 7:00 pm on Tuesday night. Â Saint Rose will be in Manchester, N.H. to face Southern New Hampshire, while Assumption is home versus Southern Connecticut State.
