ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose earned a 3-0 win over Felician tonight with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-14. The Golden Knights landed a season-best 15 aces to remain unbeaten inside Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium this fall.

"It was a great win tonight for our team. We stayed calm and kept our composure throughout the entire match," said Head Coach
Vanessa Volpe-Rivera. "We executed our game plan and were able to use our versatility to our advantage tonight."Â
Forrest landed five of her kills in an opening frame that saw the Golden Knights win five of the final six points in the set after the two teams were deadlocked at 20-20.
Zandstra tallied five kills in the second as Saint Rose would again close out a frame following a 20-20 tie. Felician had built a 16-8 advantage in the middle stages of the second before the Golden Knights rallied for nine consecutive points to claim control of the set. Saint Rose would put the finishing touches on the sweep with seven aces in the third.Â

Valeria Jorge logged 33 assists and 11 digs for the Golden Knights, while sophomore libero
Katelyn Atchinson registered three aces and a stellar .929 reception percentage.Â
Freshman outside hitter Sara Betts paced the Golden Falcons (0-8) with a match-high 16 kills.Â
Up next, the Golden Knights head to New Castle, Delaware for the Wildcat Invitational at Wilmington University. Saint Rose begins play on Friday against Jefferson at 7:00 pm, followed by an 11:30 am meeting with Holy Family and a 7:00 pm match-up versus the host Wildcats on Saturday. Felician is on the road to face Caldwell at 4:30 pm on Friday.
Notes: The Golden Knights have won four of their last five matches...Cavalcanti was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week and Jorge was recognized on the NE10 weekly honor roll for the period ending Sunday, September 4… Jorge ranks third among the setters in the NE10 with an average of 8.73 assists per set and also lists sixth in the league with 100 digs...Vargas (74 kills) and Cavalcanti (71 kills) respectively rank eighth and tenth in the conference in kills...Cavalcanti (0.73 blocks per set) and Fripp (0.77 blocks per) both list in the top-15 in the NE10…Cavalcanti also is tied for first in the NE10 with 19 aces.
