CILIENTO AND JOLLY NET FOUR GOALS EACH IN HOME SETBACK TO #18 ASSUMPTION


ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose fell to #18 Assumption tonight, with the Greyhounds receiving scores from seven different players to earn the 18-10 victory at the Plumeri Sports Complex.

The sophomore duo of midfield Deanna Ciliento and attack Kaitlyn Jolly tallied four goals apiece in the setback for the Golden Knights, while sophomore midfields Daria Bock and Payton O'Hara added solo scores as well.

Saint Rose managed to keep the action close throughout the opening two periods, trailing the Greyhounds 8-5 after the first 30 minutes.

Ciliento netted two strikes in the closing stages of the third period to cut the Golden Knights deficit to 13-9 after Assumption had pushed the margin to as much as six earlier in the frame.

The Greyhounds were able to pull away in the fourth, outscoring Saint Rose 5-1 in the final period to close out the fifth win in their last six games

Sophomore attack Liv Catanzarite and senior attack Jill Good each scored four goals to lead Assumption (8-5/6-3 NE10).

Sophomore goalie Dorothy Gaffney matched a career-best with 13 saves in net for Saint Rose (7-6/3-6 NE10).

Looking forward, both teams are on the road against nationally-ranked conference rivals on Tuesday. The Golden Knights travel to Syracuse to take on #10 Le Moyne at 3:00 pm, while Adelphi faces #21 New Haven for a 7:00 pm meeting in West Haven, Conn.
Notes: Saint Rose received votes in this week's IWLCA National Poll…Sophomore midfield Daria Bock leads the Golden Knights in goals (27), assists (18), and draw controls (61)…She has scored in 10 of the team's 13 games this season, in addition to ranking 10th in the league with 45 points...Defensively, freshman midfield Katy McPeak ranks second in the conference with 39 ground balls, while Bock is fourth with 20 caused turnovers..
