ROCHESTER, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose defeated Roberts Wesleyan tonight in non-conference action, with four different Golden Knights scoring in double-figures to propel Saint Rose to a 65-57 victory over the host Redhawks.
Junior guard
Isabel Sanchez paced the Golden Knights with 18 points, while sophomore guard
Ryley Blasetti and senior guard
Makaela Johnson poured in 11 points.Â
Freshman forward
Aniya McDonald-Perry finished with a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds. Johnson also capped a double-double performance with 10 boards.
After Saint Rose led throughout the majority of the first three quarters, the action would tighten in the begin the final quarter after Roberts Wesleyan finished the third on a 6-0 run.
Blasetti, however, would drill a three-pointer with 8:24 remaining to provide the Golden Knights a 48-46 advantage, a lead that spanned until the final whistle, as Saint Rose would go on to hold the Redhawks to just 11 points over the final eight minutes.
Junior guard Georgia Haverlock scored 17 points to top Roberts Weslesyan, in addition to 11 points by Paris Anthony. Junior guard Danielle DiCiento distributed seven assists for the Redhawks.
Looking forward, Saint Rose returns to Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium to welcome Southern New Hampshire at 5:30 pm on Tuesday night. Roberts heads to Queens College on Friday.
