SAINT ROSE FIGHTS TO 1-1 DRAW AT SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE

MANCHESTER, N.H.- The College of Saint Rose battled to a 1-1 draw this afternoon at Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire. The Golden Knights struck within the game's first four minutes and the defense remained stout throughout to help Saint Rose extend its unbeaten streak to 12 matches to begin the fall campaign.

Sophomore forward Mia Klammer provided the lone score for the Golden Knights only 3:46 minutes into the opening half to stake Saint Rose to an early 1-0 advantage.

Klammer and senior midfielder Jen Bartlett were both quick to pounce on a loose ball inside the Penmen box to create the scoring sequence. Bartlett recorded an initial strike that was blocked, which turned into an easy rebound opportunity for an open Klammer.

The Golden Knights were able to maintain the 1-0 margin until the 57th minute of the contest, when Southern New Hampshire tallied a strike from senior defender Victoria Roulston to even the action at 1-1.

Saint Rose would continue to fight for a potential game-winning goal following the Penmen equalizer, as the Golden Knights would outshoot the Penmen 3-1 over the final 33 minutes of the second half. However, the 1-1 result would hold through the remainder of the regulation.

Sophomore goalkeeper Pia Bozic turned away four shots for Saint Rose (9-0-3/5-0-3 NE10), including an acrobatic diving save in the games' early moments to keep the action scoreless. Graduate student goalie Hannah Rose registered four saves as well for Southern New Hampshire (5-2-3/2-2-3 NE10).

Looking ahead, both teams return to action with roads contests on Wednesday night.  The Golden Knights travel to Springfield, Mass. for face American International at 7:00 pm, while Southern New Hampshire heads to Southern Connecticut for a 5:00 pm meeting.
