WORCESTER, Mass. - The College of Saint Rose fell on the road 71-59 at Northeast-10 Conference rival Assumption tonight.

Shamim Wambere each added 11 points. Defensively, Saint Rose combined to block eight shots as a team, with Fedullo and Sanchez turning away three attempts each.Â

The Greyhounds (8-8/5-6 NE10) took a 35-25 advantage into the halftime break after limiting the Saint Rose offense to 4-of-14 shooting (28.6 percent) in the game-turning second quarter. Assumption propelled ahead in the second after shooting 61.5 percent (8 of 13) from the field to outscore the Golden Knights 24-11 in the frame.
Saint Rose was able to cut its deficit down to six with 7:54 remaining in the fourth, but Assumption responded to score the next seven points to extend the lead back to double-digits.
Sophomore guard Amanda Mieczkowski topped all players with 15 points, with graduate student Meghan Cramb and senior Ja'Lyn Armstrong adding a respective 14 and 12 points. Freshman Marina Callahan registered 10 points and 12 rebounds as well to help Assumption earn its third consecutive win.
Looking forward, both teams continue league play with road meetings on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights will tip at 1:30 pm at Stonehill, while the Greyhounds head to Syracuse to take on Le Moyne at 1:00 pm.
