GOLDEN KNIGHTS HANG WITH #19 NEW HAVEN EARLY

Ciliento and Bock Combine for Nine Goals in 21-9 NE10 Loss

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The College of Saint Rose sophomore midfielder Deanna Ciliento scored five goals, while freshman midfielder Daria Bock added four in this afternoon's 21-9 Northeast-10 Conference loss at #19 New Haven.

Saint Rose hung with the nationally-ranked Chargers throughout the first half, trailing just 7-6 at intermission. New Haven came out of the break firing, beginning the second period on a 6-1 run. Ciliento and Bock scored back-to-back to trim the deficit to four, 13-9, with 21:13 remaining, but the Black and Gold were unable to get any closer from there.

The Saint Rose goalie duo of freshman Dorothy Gaffney and sophomore goalie Madeline Yeung combined to stop 13 shots.

Sophomore attack Annie Acquavita led New Haven with eight points behind six goals and two assists.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose (0-4/0-4 NE10) is scheduled to host #6 Adelphi on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Per Northeast-10 Conference and New York State Department of Health guidelines, NO SPECTATORS at this point will be permitted to attend any games scheduled for the Plumeri Sports Complex or on the road in order to keep our student-athletes and staff members safe. Fans can watch the contest on the NE10NOW Network. New Haven (3-3/3-3 NE10) is slated to visit #3 Le Moyne on Saturday at 11:00 am.
Notes: Ciliento's five goals are the second-most in a game by a Saint Rose player. She holds the program single-game goal scoring record with six, which she set March 10, 2020 in a 16-10 win versus Post University.
