NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The College of Saint Rose was defeated 75-42 on the road tonight against Northeast-10 conference rival Southern Connecticut State. The experienced Owls outscored the Golden Knights 38-19 over the final two quarters to propel to the league victory.

Catherine Finnerty added six points to round out the high scorers for the Golden Knights (2-5/2-3 NE10).Â
Southern Connecticut State (5-2/3-0 NE10) earned its third straight win after knocking down 42.0 percent (29 of 69) of its field goals while limiting the Golden Knights to 15-of-52 shooting (28.8 percent) from the floor.Â
The Owls were led by graduate forward Jessica Fressle's 23 points and 12 rebounds in the victory. Senior Zoe Amalbert also finished with a "double-double" of 13 points and 10 assists, and senior Delaney Conners registered 13 points to help Southern Connecticut State remain unbeaten in conference play. Entering tonight's match-up, Fressle carried a 19.9 scoring average, the fourth-highest mark in the NE10, while Amalbert topped the league with a regular pace of 6.4 assists.
Looking forward, Saint Rose returns to Nolan Gym on Friday to face Roberts Wesleyan in a 3:45 pm non-conference meeting. The Owls also go outside of the NE10 on Saturday as they travel to Bloomfield for a 1:00 pm tilt.
