GARDEN CITY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose began Northeast-10 Conference play this afternoon with a 66-53 setback at Adelphi. The Panthers jumped out to a 21-6 lead after the opening quarter and led throughout to earn the win.

Nina Fedullo added nine points to pace Saint Rose on the offensive end. The Golden Knights (0-3/0-1 NE10) finished with a 46-31 rebound advantage, with Townes leading Saint Rose with seven boards. Fedullo was active in the paint defensively blocking three shots.
Four Panthers registered double-figure point totals to lead the hosts, topped by freshman guard Kaitlyn O'Connell with 16 points. Freshman guard Sydney Rosenoff and graduate center Rebecca Lee each recorded 11 points and graduate guard Emily Miccile turned in a double-double effort of 10 points and 12 rebounds. Adelphi (1-2/1-0 NE10) was able to maintain a double-digit lead in the final three quarters behind effective shooting from behind the arc, finishing with 12-26 on long range attempts.
Looking ahead, both teams are back on the hardwood Tuesday night. Saint Rose is in Nolan Gymnasium for a 5:30 pm home-opener against Le Moyne. Adelphi travels to Molloy for a 6:00 pm non-conference meeting.
