SAINT ROSE HITS CENTURY MARK FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE DAY

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose put on a dominating offensive performance for the second time in 48 hours to upend host College of Staten Island 112-54 during this afternoon's final day of action at the Tournament of Heroes.

The Golden Knights (2-0) also hit the century mark in yesterday's 101-65 win versus D'Youville.

"We had a successful weekend down in Staten Island. I thought today we were able to really turn up the pressure defensively and get stops and turnovers, which we were able to convert into baskets on the other end. We are excited to keep the momentum going with two more games coming up next week," said Head Coach Mike Perno.

Saint Rose shot 53.7 percent (36-for-67) from the floor today and held the Dolphins (0-2) to 30.3 percent (20-for-66) shooting, while turning 19 Staten Island miscues into 33 points.

The Golden Knights put seven players in double-figures scoring including freshman forward Shane O'Dell who tossed in 22 points in only 21 minutes of action. Sophomore forward Eric Fleming went 7-for-7 from the floor on the way to a 17-point effort, while fellow sophomore forward Josh McGettigan and freshman guard Tray Alexander contributed 13 and 12 respectively. The latter also handed out six assists, while committing just one turnover.

Fifth-year guard Adam Anderson, sophomore guard Manasseh Small, and sophomore forward Cartier Bowman contributed 10 points apiece. Bowman also hauled in 11 rebounds and wound up 8-for-8 from the free throw stripe.

Senior guard Austin Mick scored 11 points for the Dolphins (0-2).

The Golden Knights reeled off nine unanswered points midway through the first half that turned a 19-13 advantage into a 28-13 lead with 9:02 to go before the break. They eventually walked in the locker room with a 55-31 halftime lead.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is on the road Wednesday for a 6:00 pm non-league game at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J.
