#3 GOLDEN KNIGHTS ROAR BACK TO REMAIN UNBEATEN

EASTON, Mass. -The College of Saint Rose struck with the tying goal in the 86th minute and then won it in the opening minute of the second overtime to upend host Northeast-10 Conference rival Stonehill 2-1 this afternoon.

"It was a tremendous team effort to get the win today. The team demonstrated the will and grit to get the equalizing goal in the last five minutes," said head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil. "(Sanna) Rein struck a brilliant ball. In overtime, Kelly (Coster) flighted a superb cross into the six from the right flank and Mia (Klammer) headed it in for the game winner. We are looking forward to playing home Tuesday after being on the road for six of our first eight games."

In the process of capturing the victory, the Golden Knights (7-0-1/4-0-1 NE10) extended their season-long unbeaten streak to eight matches.

Freshman forward Mia Klammer scored her league leading seventh goal of the season at the 100.38 mark for the game-winner after sophomore back Sanna Rein leveled it with 85:55 gone by.

The winning strike could not have been executed any better. Sophomore back Kelly Coster delivered a cross from the right side that Klammer headed inside the left post to allow Saint Rose to improve to 5-0-1 on the road.

The Skyhawks certainly threw a scare at Saint Rose before Rein squared it 1-1 when she floated a shot from the top of the area just under the crossbar.

Previously, sophomore midfielder Emmy Dumaresq put Stonehill (3-5-1/2-4-1 NE10) up with 54:27 gone by after the Golden Knights possessed the ball for 53.0 percent of the scoreless opening 45 minutes.

Overall, Saint Rose outshot the Skyhawks 18-9 and generated an 11-3 advantage in threats-on-target. Fifth-year keeper Marika Laurendeau recorded both of her saves in the second half to keep the match close. Junior Hanna Copley was forced to turn aside nine shots for Stonehill.

Looking ahead, both sides get back on the pitch for conference matches Tuesday. The Golden Knights entertain Saint Michael's at 6:00 pm, while the Skyhawks head to Waltham, Mass. to face Bentley at 3:30 pm.
