ALBANY, N.Y. - Â The College of Saint Rose closed its season with tonight's 64-54 Northeast-10 Conference loss to visiting American International.
Â
Senior forward
Leah Dollard and senior guard
Cameron Graupman, both playing their final collegiate games, led the Golden Knights (7-19/2-17 NE10) with 14 points apiece. Graupman contributed seven rebounds, and career-highs of four steals and three blocks, while Dollard, who went 6-of-12 from the field, grabbed five rebounds. Junior forward
Nina Fedullo added 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for her 11th "double-double" of the year.
Â
Junior guard Destine Perry topped American International (8-20/5-14 NE10) with 17 points.
Â
The visiting Yellow Jackets, up 26-18 at the half, slowly increased their advantage across the third period to lead by 20 early in the final stanza. The Golden Knights, which held AIC without a field goal across the final 9:47, didn't go quietly off the court. Saint Rose used a 19-6 run spanning 9:02 to get to within seven, 61-54, with 45 seconds to go. However, the visitors were able to do enough at the line to keep the Golden Knights at bay.
Â
With tonight's results, American International qualified for the NE10 Championship Tournament. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Manchester, N.H. to face Southern New Hampshire for Friday's first round game. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 pm.                               Â
