ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose rallied from a 22-point deficit with five minutes remaining to get to within nine, only to fall 92-80 to visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire this afternoon.

The Penmen (11-8/4-7NE10) helped themselves by burying 51.7 percent (15-for-29) of their shots from beyond the arc and outscoring the Golden Knights (4-16/1-10 NE10) 15-7 from the foul line.

However, Saint Rose ran out of time as Southern New Hampshire ran off the game's final three points.

Sylla led four Golden Knights in twin-figures with his 15th "double-double" of the year. He finished with 26 points and 14 rebounds, to go along with three steals. Freshman guard
Cartier Bowman contributed 17 points, nine boards, and four assists; while Anderson and freshman forward
Josh McGettigan tossed in 15 apiece.

Senior forward Eamonn Joyce recorded 35 points and 11 rebounds for the Penmen, who have now won two straight after dropping their previous four. Junior guard Michael Almonacy and freshman guard Jacari Sanders tossed in 18 and 17 points respectively, while another freshman guard in Ryan Conroy added 10 points in 15 minutes of reserve action.

Saint Rose was within 10, 44-34, at intermission, but Southern New Hampshire reeled off 22 of the second period's first 32 points to take a commanding lead with 14:37 left in the game. The Golden Knights whittled their deficit to 13, 72-59, with 10:11 remaining after Anderson drained a trey to cap a 10-0 run. The Penmen then boosted their advantage to 21 before Saint Rose made its final push.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights head to Manchester, N.H. Wednesday for a 7:30 pm date at Saint Anselm. Southern New Hampshire is back home Tuesday to host New Haven at 7:30 pm as well.

Notes: Five underclassmen have made 64 out of a possible 95 starts for the Golden Knights this season…Bowman was named the NE10 Rookie of the Week for the second time on Monday…Sylla was chosen to the weekly honor for the fifth time this season…He continues to lead the NE10 with 11.9 rebounds per game and is second behind a 22.5 scoring average…He is tied for first in the country with his 15 "double-doubles" and stands tied for third in rebounding…Sylla has been especially dominant of late with 11 consecutive 20-plus point contests…Anderson is scoring at a 13.2 ppg clip, while Bowman is producing 10.4 ppg and 7.3 rpg on the year…The latter has been in double-figures scoring in five straight games.
